Oak Avenue Residence was a full interior and exterior remodel that involved giving a unique New England character to an otherwise generic 50's home. The exterior work involved recomposing the existing façades by relocating the front door, opening up new windows and a new french door to bring in more light, and adding the two new wooden columns. The newly created front porch under the existing roof overhang gave the home a clear frontage and defined the entryway. The interior work included reconfiguring of the existing space to create a more spacious master bath, storage, a laundry closet and a guest bath, while preserving the three existing bedrooms. In addition, the dropped down ceiling in the living area was removed to reveal the existing structural trusses, which were then painted white and top lit, immediately giving the room more spatiality and volume.
